OPEN TO ALL – 3 x Hour Soulful Sacred Drumming Circle Experience with Afro Beat Drumming!
The event will start with opening circle and introductions. This will be followed by a short talk on the history of djembe drumming, the history behind some rhythms and the reasons why they are played. Thereafter there will be short performance to demonstrate how it is done, what is possible and what to strive for. Everyone will get a drum and we will be taught how to hold the drum and the various “notes” that we can play. From there we will move on to be taught a few of the simpler rhythms and then play . All the rhythms we play are traditional African rhythms, many of them dating back thousands of years. We end with a closing circle and sharing of our experience.
Date: Saturday 25th February 2017 – 9am – 12pm. Duration: 3 hours.
Cost: R 325.00 per person to secure your booking. We will be a private group for this sacred community experience, with like-minded people. For those of you who want to prolong the experience we will meet up for lunch (for your own account) afterwards at the Camel Rock Restaurant in Scarborough.
